The Ordering Process

1) Get in touch !

If you are interested in an order, then you can email me via the contact me form, or facebook, with details of your request including portrait size and the number of subjects, as well as your location. At this stage, I will confirm slot availability, your quote, and shipping costs.

2) Send reference photos !

Once order availability has been confirmed, I will then request reference photos of the subjects you'd like drawn. Reference photos should be of good quality, with colours true to life without filters, and clearly showing any markings or defining features. Ideally, the photo should be taken at eye level with the subject, but if you're unsure on whether or not a reference photo is suitable then please don't hesitate to ask.

3) Payment !

Payment is made via PayPal invoice, which will be sent to you via your preferred email address. For orders below £150, payment is required prior to starting work on the portrait. For orders above £150, a payment installment plan can be discussed. Please note, a PayPal account is NOT required for PayPal invoices, and you will be sent an active link to make payment via Debit or Credit card.

4) Sketching Time !

Once payment has been received, I can get started on a pencil sketch. When completed, the sketch will be sent to you for approval, at which stage we can make adjustments should you require them.

5) Painting !

Now for the fun part. Only when you are 100% happy with the sketch will I move onto the lineart and painting. This stage usually takes the longest to complete, though I may get in touch during the process with photos if I need some clarification on any of the details. When I have finished painting the piece, I will send images to you for final approval !

6) Receiving your portrait !

For traditional portraits, your artwork will be shipped to the address you provided. A5 and A4 portraits are sent in hardback envelopes. A3 are sent in larger wrapped parcels, with MDF or plastic backing. All portraits are sent in a cellophane wallet for protection. With digital portraits, the final image will be emailed to your preferred email address. Images are usually sent as PNG files, though I am happy to provide PDF or JPG if you prefer.

Important Information

Prices above do not include postage and packaging, which varies depending on location. Orders within the UK are sent via Royal Mail First Class Recorded, and International Orders are sent by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed.

Order turn-around does vary depending on the time of year and demand (for example, early orders are encouraged for the Christmas period), though average turn-around is between 3-5 weeks. If you require a portrait by a set time, please get in touch with me to discuss this.

All artwork produced remains copyright to myself, unless previously agreed upon, and reproduction is not permitted as standard. If you would like to use artwork for commercial purposes, then I am more than happy to discuss this!
